 Pre-K & K

The Instructional league is an introductory tee ball league for Kindergarten aged girls.  All girls will hit off a tee to learn the proper mechanics of their swing – continuous tee work is essential and is seen being used by teams all the way through college and beyond. The goal of this league is to introduce the basic fundamentals of softball, while they have fun with their teammates. They will learn how to properly throw, field, and hit a ball, as well as proper base running – which includes our famous relay races around the bases. Many age appropriate drills will be utilized to teach these skills, but the drills will look more like games to the girls. It's a time to have fun while learning. There will be practices with other teams & games scattered throughout the season to ensure the girls interact plenty with everyone in this league.  Teams will be randomly put together with Kindergarten girls of all skill levels being on each team.

Practice nights will be on Wednesdays and Saturday games will be at 9am or 11am.  These times will rotate throughout the season.

1st & 2nd

The Intermediate League is a coach pitch, developmental league for girls in 1st and 2nd Grade.  This league is where they will begin to put  the basic skills of  throwing, hitting, fielding & base running together, to start learning the game.  As the girls improve through the season, they will progress to games with an opposing team.  At the beginning, it is important for coaches to teach & reinforce the fundamentals.  There will be two 1 ½ hour meetings per week: the season begins with 2 practices per week with several skill stations set up to continue improving their basic skills. There will also be weekly games added to replace one practice, as the season progresses. The girls will learn by playing, but the practices with the skill drills will really help their game, at this age.  Teams will be randomly put together with 1st & 2nd grade girls of all skill levels being on each team.

This division will get together on Monday evenings and Saturdays at 11am.

3rd & 4th

The Minor League is a transitional league where we combine the basic skills the players have learned in Instructional and Intermediates and put it into real game play with actual pitching led by the players and officiating by league trained umpires. This league will be for players in 3rd and 4th grade as they prepare for the more competitive leagues of Juniors and Seniors.  There will be a 1 ½ hour practice per week where the girls will all practice together as a league. The intent is to continue to develop their skills, while ensuring the training they receive is consistent throughout.  Coaches will have the option to hold additional practices at their discretion, if and when field times are available. There will also be weekly games played every Saturday. At this age group the girls will really develop by putting together what they have learned in the weekly skills practices into a real game setting. Teams will be randomly put together with 3rd and 4th grade girls of all skill levels being on each team.

This division will get together on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays at 9am.

 5th & 6th

The Junior division ramps up the competition level, to keep pace with the players abilities.  Fundamentals will still be stressed, but situational play will be introduced in practices as well.  Standings are kept and the end of the season will feature a double elimination tournament at it's conclusion.  Players will pitch from 40 feet with a 12 inch ball.  Games will be 6 innings and will often finish in under two hours.  Runners can steal 2nd and 3rd, but there is no stealing of home. Teams will play games twice a week, once on a weeknight and once on Saturday.  They will also have an additional practices during the week at the coaches discretion and pending field availability.  Teams will be divided up based on skill level to make sure teams are as even as possible.  There will be a mandatory skills session that everyone in Juniors will be required to attend in the March timeframe.
